Nigel Clough expects a 'stern' test, with Oldham Athletic the next visitors to Bramall Lane on Saturday.
Speaking at his pre-match press briefing, the Blades boss has given the work of his Latics counterpart Lee Johnson a big thumbs up, with Oldham having lost just once since August, that defeat coming against current leaders Bristol City at Ashton Gate earlier this month.
Of Johnson, who Clough managed briefly at Derby County and the improvement of Athletic this season, the Gaffer remarked:
"We saw when we played them at the end of last season that he was having a positive effect on them and it has continued into this season.
"They are in a rich vein of form, they aren't used to losing and they will provide us with the first of three stern tests at home, probably our toughest at home to date.
"People will look and see we have got three home fixtures on the bounce and expect us to be taking nine points, but the opposition, Oldham in this instance, will have a big say about that.
"Lee likes his team to play as he did, they will want to get the ball down, they will be offensive minded and bright, but they will also be strong at resolute at the other end of the field, so it will be another tight game I would expect.
"But we aren't doing too badly ourselves at the moment and our immediate aim is to consolidate on position in the top six and put some pressure on the teams above us."
