Diego De Girolamo has rejoined York City until early January.
The 19-year-old enjoyed a productive initial loan at Bootham Crescent, scoring three goals in four starts, having moved in October.
Since returning to Bramall Lane, the Italian youth international has featured as a substitute in both FA Cup ties against Crewe Alexandra, in addition to starting in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat at Walsall.
On De Girolamo rejoining the Minstermen, Blades boss Nigel Clough said: "With Michael Higdon and Marc McNulty back we now have striking options and this return to York gives Diego the opportunity to continue his development.
"He did well in his first spell and we are happy for him to go and work with Russ Wilcox again."
