Nigel Clough is optimistic about what lies ahead at Bramall Lane.
Speaking after Saturday's win over Coventry City, which meant the Blades finished the Sky Bet League One season in seventh position, the United boss is confident his players will relish the task of trying to get the Club back into the Championship next term.
Clough remarked: "This is a big Club, the expectation and potential was a big reason why we came here, so whatever is expected next season is understandable and promotion will be our aim.
"We have a good nucleus of players, but we need to add to the squad and make it stronger in certain areas to be really competitive.
"We will get the crowd behind us from the off next season and they will have a massive role to play in our push for a top six spot at the very least."
The Gaffer finished by offering a final thought on the campaign that concluded at the weekend, adding:
"I am delighted we have managed to finish so strongly after briefly being in a relegation scrap.
"Add to that the fantastic cup run and everyone can be very proud of their efforts, now we have to take that momentum through the summer and into next season."
