Kieron Freeman could be handed his Bramall Lane debut in front of a sell-out crowd.
The defender signed on loan from Derby County on Thursday and could be thrown straight into the mix in Sunday's FA Cup quarter-final against Charlton Athletic. The 21-year-old has not played in the competition this season and is available.
"We will have to see if the Gaffer selects me, I don't know yet," Freeman said. "I've never played at Bramall Lane so it would be a good start."
Speaking to the media after agreeing an initial loan deal until early April, Freeman added: "I was aware earlier in the week that this move could happen. I was on international duty with Wales U21s and then managed to tie everything up - it is great to be here, the lads have already been making me laugh.
"The Gaffer signed me at Derby and played me in the Championship and the chance to work with him again will be good for me.
"At the moment I'm learning and this will be a good place to progress, I'm trying to be a sponge and learn all the time and this will be a new experience for me."
