Blades Managing Director Mal Brannigan believes the next generation at United's coveted Redtooth Academy will be given the opportunity to emulate the likes of Connor Dimaio, Otis Khan and Louis Reed.
The teenage trio all made their first-team debuts under Nigel Clough last season and Brannigan has reiterated the Club's need to continue producing homegrown talent.
Looking ahead, United's MD remarked: "The Club have taken on seven scholars for the Academy and signed 11 current scholars on professional contracts this summer.
"We have a strong desire to support (Academy boss) Nick Cox and his Academy team to make sure we have the right resources to remain strong and competitive as an Academy.
"Ultimately the aim remains to develop players through to the first-team squad over a period time on a consistent basis and as we saw last season, youth will be given it's chance with Nigel (Clough) in charge."
