Chris Porter says he had little hesitation in agreeing to stay with the Blades for the 2014/15 Sky Bet League One season.
Speaking after signing a new one-year contract to remain at Bramall Lane for the next 12 months, the 30-year-old marksman, who netted 11 times last term, remarked:
"I am pleased to get it done, but there hasn't been a delay as such, I have been away for Ryan Flynn's wedding, so I have been in Scotland for the last 10 days or so.
"I haven't looked elsewhere, despite a bit of interest from other clubs. Once I knew there was an offer on the table I was keen to extend my stay at Sheffield United.
"This is a city where I want to live, the Club is going places and I want be part of something special here. I could have moved on for more money, but that isn't what drives me, I am a loyal person and I am happy in Sheffield.
"Me and my partner are happy and that means I can solely focus on my football next season.
"I am excited about next season, I showed some good form in the second half of last season and I want to hit the ground running this time around."
