Club on the up, says Ben

Ben Davies has his sights on the Sky Bet League One title next season.

Speaking after penning a one-year contract with the Blades, the 33-year-old is looking forward to working with Nigel Clough and his staff and said the aim for next term in simple - promotion as champions.

Davies commented: "It is brilliant to have been able to tie everything up so early in the summer, now I can focus on returning for pre-season at the beginning of July.

"I needed to sort things out at Derby before I could sign here, but thankfully we got the paperwork done pretty quickly at this end and I am delighted to commit myself to Sheffield United for the next 12 months.

"There was an option or two to stay in the Championship, but this is a sideways step because this is a Club on the up and you know what you get when you work with the Gaffer.

"I have played over 100 games for him and he was a massive reason I joined on-loan in February.

"Now I want to come back and be a part of a promotion-winning side next season, the target is to win League One."
