Marc McNulty is confident he has the ability to be a regular starter for the Blades in Sky Bet League One this season, but says he will welcome added competition.
The Scottish marksman, signed for an undisclosed fee from Livingston at the beginning of the summer, netted on his Blades debut in Friday's 4-2 victory over SPL outfit Dundee.
McNulty, who netted a close-range effort from a right-wing corner in the second-half on Friday, insists he won't be going public with his goalscoring expectations: "I'm not the type of person who makes grand statements and things like that.
"I prefer to let my football do the talking for me and I'm confident in my ability to get goals."
On further potential additions to the forward ranks, the 21-year-old added: "I can totally understand where the Gaffer is coming from on this one and, do you know what, I actually agree with him. The more firepower we've got here the better and the more competition for places there is then the better it is for the team.
"That's the most important thing in all of this. The team, not individuals, even though we all want to play and be involved."
