Neill Collins says the Blades are looking forward to testing themselves against Turkish champions Fenerbahçe on Thursday night.
The experienced defender believes the friendly against Ersun Yanal's side will be another beneficial workout for United ahead of the Sky Bet League One opener against Bristol City on 9th August.
The centre-half commented: "It is a game that has been talked about amongst the supporters for most of the summer and for the players it will be a great test against a lot of top international players.
"It'll be a big test, of course. But it'll be a fantastic occasion, for everyone involved at the Club.
"It may not be quite on the same scale but we've played against big clubs and big players before, the likes of Aston Villa in the FA Cup last season. So the lads have shown that they are more than capable of handling that."
Looking back on Tuesday's narrow defeat to Huddersfield Town, Collins added: "We go into Thursday taking a lot of positives despite defeat against a very good Championship side.
"They were well drilled and in Nahki Wells they have one of the best strikers in the division above, so we can take heart from our performance, especially first-half.
"Pre-season isn't so much about results, but we felt slightly unfortunate to have lost, because we proved to be a good match for them."
* Tickets for tonight's game are still available (£7 adults and £3 concessions) and can be purchased from the Box Office right up until 7.30pm.
