Sheffield United has a great tradition of supporting local causes and for season 2014/15 the Club is looking to boost two more additional local charities - we want charities to nominate themselves.
United will support the two chosen charities with a bucket collection and will work directly with the charities to offer assistance for additional fundraising activities and profile.
The Blades already have four nominated charities - The Sheffield Children's Hospital, Weston Park Hospital, St Luke's Hospice and Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice - and they receive support on an ongoing basis. The Club also continues to support the St Wilfrid's Centre, which is very close to our Bramall Lane stadium.
To be considered as a charity for this season you will need to be a registered charity and be within the South Yorkshire region.
Nominations will need to come from the charities themselves so any fans wanting a particular charity to be considered will need to contact the charity to discuss this.
The nomination process will be by letter and should contain the following information - name of the charity and address, the work you do, how you are funded and supported, how you promote your charity and why you want to be involved with Sheffield United.
Nominations should then be sent by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or to Charity Requests, Sheffield United FC, Bramall Lane, Sheffield, S2 4SU. Nominations need to be received by Monday 21st July.
There will be a short-listing and decision process by a panel of Sheffield United management staff. It may be that you will be asked to come and present to the panel.
A final decision will be made by Friday 8th August and announced before the start of the new season.
