Nigel Clough is excited by the prospect of reuniting his working relationship with newly-appointed Managing Director, Mal Brannigan.
Clough worked with the 47-year-old, who joined United on this week, at Derby County and the Blades boss believes Brannigan's expertise and experience will be crucial to the club moving forward.
Speaking ahead of Saturday's clash at Notts County, Clough remarked: "The key relationship at a football club used to be between the chairman and the manager, now it is a bit different and I am really looking forward to working with Mal (Brannigan) again.
"Mal did a lot of business at Pride Park, a high number of those were really good transfer deals for the football club. When you look at the financial state of Derby now it shows what good work Mal did alongside two other former colleagues, who have moved to Manchester City and the Colorado Rapids.
"We will talk on a daily basis and with Mal you must remember he has a wide range of football experience, he has been involved in all aspects of a football club, from transfer dealings to the commercial side of the business and with both of those comes finance, so he is certainly an all-rounder.
"Mal is excited to be joining the Blades and I am delighted he has chosen to take up this challenge."
