In what has already been a busy January on the transfer front, boss Nigel Clough gives a full update on possible comings and goings before the end of the month.
Clough began his pre-match press conference, ahead of Saturday's clash with Bradford City, by discussing possible additions to the playing staff and utilising his squad.
The Gaffer remarked: "We are down the road with two or three options, hopefully we can get one done in time for Bradford and then we will pick things back up ahead of the FA Cup.
"We have got the likes of Elliott (Whitehouse) and Terry (Kennedy) in and around the matchday squad and they are the sort of players that need to be included. Shaun (Miller) is also in contention, so ideally we would like to add another defender, a midfielder and a striker, but they have to be able to come in and start games.
"We brought in Billy (Paynter) because we are in a battle at the wrong end of the table and he is a physical presence.
"Aidy (White) is another player we are continuing to monitor, he is expected to be fit before the end of the month, so we'll see what happens with him."
On the departure of Febian Brandy and the possibility of another player leaving the club, Clough added: "Febian needs games and he hasn't featured much since getting sent off at Shrewsbury Town in November.
"Jamie (Murphy), Ryan (Flynn) and Conor (Coady) have all grasped their opportunities of late, so it is pointless keeping Febian sat around on the bench.
"Florent (Cuvelier) has trained with Port Vale for a couple of days and there is a good chance he will move out on-loan for the rest of the season.
"We have found it difficult to integrate Florent, given the consistent form of Conor, so again we want him to get out to play regular football."
