Gaffer on Fleetwood test

12 December 2014

Nigel Clough expects a tough afternoon's work when the Blades face Fleetwood Town at Highbury on Saturday.

Graham Alexander's Town have only lost at home once this season in Sky Bet League One and Clough believes their home form has been instrumental to the success the Cod Army have enjoyed during the meteoric rise through the divisions in recent years.

Looking ahead, the Gaffer remarked: "Fleetwood are a very good side at home, they are well drilled and not many sides fancy going to Highbury because it is a tough, tough place to go.

"There are there or thereabouts in terms of trying to mount a challenge for the top six and they enjoyed a good start to the season.

"They are obviously very confident and comfortable playing at home and that comes with all the success they have enjoyed, they must have built that on being consistent at home."

Clough added: "It will be a full house, it is a big game for both clubs and we probably could have sold a lot more tickets for our supporters if they had been available so it will be a good atmosphere.

"Fleetwood play with one in the hole, in a diamond formation that has caused teams problems and in the likes of Evans and Dobbie they have players capable of scoring from midfield too."
