Further call-ups for Blades youngsters

It has been a busy week of international call-ups for several of United's youngsters.


On Wednesday it was confirmed that Republic Of Ireland duo Connor Dimaio and Joel Coustrain had been selected in the U19s squad to face the Netherlands next month.


On Thursday, Blades boss Nigel Clough granted permission for striker Diego De Girolamo to link up with Italy's U20s for a four nations tournament, which also includes Germany, Poland and Switzerland.


Earlier this month, Jamie McDonagh was called up by Northern Ireland U19s for their fixture with Iceland during the international break in early September.


Now, U18s skipper Ioan Evans has called from a standby list to take his place is the Welsh U19s squad for games in Montenegro next week.


Meanwhile, midfielder Shea Gordon is currently representing Northern Ireland U17s in the Syrenka Cup in Poland.


Gordon captained his side in a 2-1 loss to Belgium on Tuesday and played the second-half of Thursday's narrow defeat to the Polish.
