Gaffer on O's test

4 April 2014

Blades boss Nigel Clough says he has admiration for what Russell Slade has achieved at Leyton Orient this season, but is adamant his players will be going all out for victory at Bramall Lane on Saturday.

Speaking ahead of the clash with the O's, Clough remarked: "Russell (Slade) has done a tremendous job down there and deserve a lot of credit.

"They might be disappointed with a few recent results, but if someone had told them they would be third in early April, I am sure most Orient fans would have snapped your hands off.

"Orient are a high energy team with some exciting attacking players, we had to play well to get a point at Brisbane Road earlier in the season and Saturday will be another very tough game, but one we want to win."

Clough is demanding United finish the season off well, despite acknowledging a top six finish is looking increasing unlikely.

He concluded: "We want to finish as high up the league as possible, if we can't get sixth, we want seventh, that is our approach.

"We are building for next season, we want some strong performances as we look for some good omens for the future."
