Midfield prospect Elliott Whitehouse has today (Thursday) joined League Two outfit York City on an initial one-month youth loan.
Under the terms of the deal, it is a possibility that Whitehouse could extend his stay at Botham Crescent until January to further his development.
The Worksop-born 19-year-old, who skippered the Blades in the FA Youth Cup success of 2011, made his first-team debut last season in the New Years Day clash at Doncaster Rovers.
Whitehouse went on to make four further substitute appearances last term and this campaign he has impressed when captaining the U21s during their unbeaten start to the season.
On the loan switch, Blades boss David Weir commented: "This move is a great opportunity for Elliott and it will prove to be a positive for his development."
