David Weir has described the signing of Florent Cuvelier from Stoke City on three-year contract as 'excellent news'.
The 20-year-old rubber stamped his move from the Britannia Stadium on Monday and took part in the morning's training session.
Weir, who has also secured the services of Manchester City striker Harry Bunn on a 28-day loan this afternoon (Monday), remarked: "It is excellent news that we have managed to sign another exciting young player with the talent of Florent.
"We have been tracking him for a while now and there has been a lot of hardwork gone on behind the scenes to make it happen.
"He is a creator, comfortable on the ball and overall just a player who always looks like making something happen.
"Florent will compliment what we already have at our disposal and I am delighted to have him onboard.
"He can play anywhere in midfield and again his versatile can only benefit the squad."
On his arrival in the Steel City, Cuvelier added: "I am delighted to have signed for a club with the ambition of Sheffield United.
"I am excited about the future and quite honestly I can't wait to get started.
"At this stage in my career I really need to start playing on a consistent basis, the only way you improve is by playing regularly.
"It was a tough decision to leave Stoke City in the Premiership, but this Club like me has desires on returning there in the future."
