Febian Brandy's availability against Preston North End at the weekend is a timely boost for David Weir, who says he won't panic buy in the loan market.
The former Walsall forward comes back into contention against the Lilywhites having served a three-match ban for his red card against the MK Dons last month.
Brandy impressed in the early part of the season and Weir is optimistic he will have positive effect on the Blades against Simon Grayson's North End.
The Gaffer, despite United's struggles in League One to date, has insisted recruiting players for the sake of it isn't the answer, commenting:
"Febian will give us a lift because he is something different. He is quick and direct with an eye for goal and we certainly need him to contribute now he is available again.
"I will continue to analyse what we are doing and what we will do in the future, because at the moment it is obviously not working.
"We are desperate to improve, but we aren't going to be desperate in searching for a quick fix. The dressing room is low and the morale is low but I would be more worried if it wasn't, we need that win - and quickly - to give everyone a boost."
