Bramall Lane recently welcomed over 50 newly postgraduate students and staff members from the Department of Service Sector Management at Sheffield Business School.
The visit was part of their induction programme to the University and to the city. Consisting mainly of Chinese youngsters, the students enjoyed a tour of the Lane before moving up to the Copthorne Hotel for a pre-match pie and pea supper, ahead of United's clash with Crawley Town.
Sean McGinty and Joe Ironside signed autographs and posed for photos, as Operations Director Dave McCarthy, Training and Development Manager Sue Beeley and Copthorne Millennium General Manager Trevor Vels were on hand to talk to the students.
A group of 10 students then took part in the guard of honour as the players came out for the game.
Richard Cooper from the Business School said, "We had a fantastic evening watching the match, after the football tradition of pie and pea supper; a new experience for most of the students. Thanks to all at Sheffield United and the Copthorne Hotel for their hospitality."
"We have a number of projects in place with Sheffield Hallam University and we were delighted that we could support the induction programme for the international students. We hope that we may have gained a few more Sheffield United fans!' commented Sue Beeley.
