Chris Morgan revealed everyone inside the away dressing room at Huish Park was 'gutted' following the 2-0 defeat on Monday that ended the Blades hopes of promotion for another season.
Speaking after seeing goals from Kevin Dawson and Ed Upson help the Glovers to a 2-1 aggregate success over his side in the play-off semi-final second-leg in Somerset, Morgan commented:
"We are gutted, to concede after five minutes was bitterly disappointing, especially having worked so hard on Friday to get an advantage.
"After taking the lead, I honestly think Yeovil scared themselves and they gradually went on to the back foot.
"As the game grew I thought we would nick one, but we didn't create enough and in the end we huffed and puffed and that wasn't enough.
"These lads have given us everything this season and I have told them not to underestimate what we have achieved, given all the changes we have been through as a group during the last year."
Morgan continued: "With all the young lads we have currently progressing at this football club, coupled with some excellent experienced professionals, I do genuinely believe we have a bright future.
"It is going to be hardwork, nobody will ever give you anything easy, but when we return for pre-season at the end of June, we have to be ready to mount another challenge next season.
"We have always had total commitment and desire and you can never qustion the effort of these players.
"Perhaps we have to be cuter and do things off the cuff at times, but unfortunately today it didn't work out."
