Danny Wilson has confirmed he is hopeful that Jamie Murphy won't be sidelined for too long and has refused to rule him out of Saturday's clash with Brentford.
Murphy was forced to leave the field early on against Stevenage at the Lamex last week and the early prognosis wasn't too good.
Speaking ahead of the visit of the Bees, Wilson says the outlook looks slightly brighter, although the Scotsman also has a niggling back complaint.
The Blades boss admits the former Motherwell forward is a doubt for the weekend, but insists he will be given as long as possible to prove his fitness for the fourth versus second clash.
Wilson said: "We will wait until the 11th hour to see if Jamie (Murphy) is available, but he hasn't trained all week.
"We are hopeful the hamstring problem he suffered at Stevenage isn't as serious as first feared, although he does have a little problem with his back."
