Danny Wilson has reported that Shaun Miller is progressing well his rehabilitation from the serious knee injury he sustained against Scunthorpe United on Boxing Day.
A freak twist of his knee against the Iron saw the former Crewe marksman damage his cruciate ligaments, but following surgery Miller is now working hard in isolation at United's Shirecliffe training base.
The Blades boss, who insists the striker will be in his plans for next season, commented: "Shaun (Miller) has been in and around the place for a few weeks now, working hard on his rehabilitation programme.
"It is difficult for the lads with long-term injuries, often the boredom kicks in and it can become very frustrating and disheartening.
"When you know it is going to be a long time before you get back it is easy to let your head drop, but Shaun has been fantastic and always has a smile on his face.
"We have given him a few days away from the club to let him spend some time at home, but he has to do his workload everyday to ensure he returns as quick as possible.
"We won't see him again this season but he remains an important member of the squad."
