Kevin happy on the road

12 March 2013

Kevin McDonald is optimistic the Blades can continue the excellent form on the road during forthcoming trips to Crewe and Stevenage.

United have won 10 and drawn six of the 18 away matches played so far this term and McDonald feels the Blades are perfectly equipped to continue to pick up points away from home to aid the push for promotion.

Looking ahead to Tuesday night's clash with the Railwaymen at Gresty Road, McDonald commented: "I think we underestimated Crewe earlier in the season and paid the price by not winning the match and conceding three goals in the process.

"We should have still won that game, but I am sure Tuesday night will be a much tighter fixture.

"Our away form has been very good all season, excellent in recent weeks, we set our stall out to be solid and teams struggle to break us down.

"It is the complete opposite to playing at home to be honest, the home side has to come out and attack and we are very good at picking teams off on the counter attack.

"In away games, when we get control of the match, we are capable of making the opposition work hard out of possession and that helps us create goalscoring opportunities."
