Birmingham 0-2 U18s - report

13 March 2013

United's U18s returned to winning ways on Saturday, with an impressive victory at Birmingham City.

Speaking after completing the double of the Blues, Jamie Hoyland had nothing but praise for his youngsters:

"It was a really good team performance, the lads were excellent from the first minute to the last and the penny seems to be dropping.

"We showed excellent team spirit and that is something that is very important at any level. If you play as a team you will improve and we are developing a great team ethic behind the scenes.

"I learnt how you had to play as a team at Sheffield United and that is why these lads must have camaraderie between them."

The Blades dominated the game and scored a goal in each half.

Kyle SCARISBRICK excellently headed home the opener from Otis Khan's corner, before Jake EYRE applied the finishing touch to cap a fine team move to double the advantage in the second half.

Blades: Owen, Scarisbrick, J. Williams, Dimaio, Salt, Banton, Khan, Whiteman, McDonagh, Eyre (Heather 77), T. Williams (Ptak 82)
Unused: Paling, Lynch Coustrain.
