David Weir is settling well into his first managerial role.
He has spent the last couple of weeks getting acquainted with the Blades after being appointed manager on Monday 10 June.
"It has been an interesting couple of weeks and I've really enjoyed it," said the 43-year-old Scot. "I've been trying to do a bit of home work, getting to know people behind the scenes, the stadium and the training ground at Shirecliffe.
"Also, I've been watching DVDs of previous games, players and backing up what I already know. I've been trying to expand my knowledge ahead of the players reporting back for pre-season training."
Weir added to his backroom staff on Friday, returning to one of his former club, Rangers, to attract Adam Owen, and plans are being put in place for another assault on promotion from League One.
"We have some good players, young and experienced, but improvements can be made and that's what we are looking to do in the next few weeks ahead of the start of the season."
