David Weir has spoken of his delight at being able to wrap up deals for a quartet of new talent to arrive at Bramall Lane.
On Tuesday, the Blades announced that Febian Brandy, Stephen McGinn, Sean McGinty and Jasper Johns had all signed on to bolster Weir's squad ahead of the 2013-14 campaign.
The Blades chief, who has begun his pre-season programme with the players at Shirecliffe, has commented on all of the new boys.
"Febian is different," said Weir. "He has pace to burn, he is exciting and can unlock defences - he is a contrast to what we already have in the squad.
"It is important to have a bit of unexpectedness in your team and I think that Febian offers us that, he is always thinking about going forward and that is a strength.
"Stephen has a great pedigree but injury has slowed his progress. He did well at Watford and then got an injury at a bad time, when he was playing at a good level. I think he will be a good addition for us, he was free and what really impressed me is that he was desperate to join us - he really wants to do well.
"Sean is one for the future, he has attributes that we can work on. He is relatively young, we can develop him in the future, he may not feature straight away but has the potential to be the good player.
"It is similar with JJ (Jasper), in ideal world they will start well and will be featuring in the first team but we are signing him with one eye, initially, on the U21s. He has a fantastic left foot, has pace and certainly has a spark."
Weir added: "We have done quite a bit of a work on these deals so at this moment there is nothing else imminent. However, if we can improve the squad, within budgetary restrictions, we will do, we are keeping an eye out for good players."
