A number of aspects pleased David Weir in Monday evening's friendly victory over Alfreton Town.
For the fixture against the Conference Premier side, the Blades fielded a squad that included established performers, development players, two from the under 18s squad and new loan signing Conor Coady.
The Blades chief was pleased with the workout, commenting: "I thought Conor made an excellent start, I've seen a lot of him in Liverpool's youth sides, he is comfortable on the ball and made a promising start.
"It was also good to get 45 minutes into both Tony McMahon and Ryan Flynn.
"Tony was playing like a winger at times and wanted to stay on for the second half; I think Ryan is a dangerous player who gets in good positions. We hope to get more football into them before the season kicks-off."
The 1-0 scoreline, thanks to Lyle Taylor's first goal in a Blades shirt, does not do Weir's side justice after a one-sided encounter.
