Julian Winter says the Blades will look to increase communication with supporters, moving forward.
United's Chief Executive accepted that using social media is an avenue and a modern way of engaging and addressing supporters.
Speaking recently, he confirmed plans are being put in place behind the scenes to channel communication methods through the likes of Twitter and Facebook to bring Unitedites closer to the club.
He remarked: "We need to be more open, we need to be transparent and communicate openly.
"Social media is a way of tapping into information and communicating with supporters instantly, whilst continuing to use our official website.
"I will be honest, I don't have all the answers and I am no expert in this field, but colleagues will be working to the best of their ability to make this venture a success.
"We acknowledge this area needs expertise so we can get out messages out there as often and to as many people as possible."
