Wilson demands more

22 January 2013

Danny Wilson remains confident Kevin McDonald will rediscover his best form, despite admitting the midfielder has been below par of late.

Speaking after Saturday's disappointing draw with Notts County at Meadow Lane, Wilson believes a lack of confidence and moments of indecision are costing the Blades at the present time:

"We need the lads to have a clear mindset of what they are trying to do when they get on the ball because we aren't taking games by the scruff of the neck and killing teams off."

On McDonald's contribution, the Gaffer added: "Kevin has the ability to score goals and has had chances of late, but he keeps getting caught between two stones and hasn't produced an end product.

"For me Kevin needs to do a lot more and the lad himself knows he is capable of much better.

"Like most of the players I am sure they will know they need improve in the coming weeks."

Darryl Westlake played at left back against the Magpies and he earnt praise from his manager.

Wilson concluded: "Darryl did really well at left-back, looked solid and let nobody down."
