Danny Wilson has praised the Shirecliffe groundstaff for enabling his coaching staff the opportunity to get some 'grass time' under the belts of the players.
Preparations for Saturday's FA Cup fourth round tie with Reading at The Madejski Stadium have been hampered by the adverse weather that has gripped most of the country, but the Gaffer was delighted to hit the training pitch hard on Thursday.
Wilson said: "It has been close to impossible to get outside for much of the week. I am extremely grateful to the lads up here who have managed to clear some snow off the pitch for us to train on towards the back end of the week.
"It has aided our preparations and thankfully we managed to work the lads on football-specific aspects of the game on Thursday.
"I don't like training on the artificial pitches and everyone will tell you the same because it has an impact with injuries. Often indoor surfaces aggravate existing or long term niggles so I'm delighted that we've been outdoors."
