Danny Philliskirk's contract with Sheffield United has been mutually terminated.
The paperwork on the striker's deal was completed on Friday, leaving him free to join another club in the January transfer window.
He has been at Bramall Lane for almost two years and the majority of his time has been spent in the reserves. He has made just one senior start - against Burton Albion in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy in August 2011 - and seven substitute appearances, the last of which was in the defeat to Yeovil earlier this month.
Philliskirk, 21, signed from Chelsea and had a loan spell at Oxford United but has failed to hold down a regular place in Danny Wilson's first team squad.
