Danny Wilson is hopeful Neill Collins will be fit to return to first-team action in February.
The Gaffer reported that the Scottish defender, who suffered a triple fracture to his cheekbone on Boxing Day, is currently slightly ahead schedule.
Also revealing Collins will wear a protective face mask upon his return, Wilson added: "Neill is progressing well and has now been supplied with a mask, which doesn't improve his looks!
"In fairness he is feeling better in himself and is itching to get back. The test will be when he starts training again, making contact with the ball and the opposition.
"The pleasing thing is he is moving in the right direction, possibly in another two to three weeks he could be available.
"He should start running at the beginning of next week, but obviously that will be non-contact because the fracture still needs time to heal."
