League is sole focus

31 January 2013

The Blades face a tough challenge against fellow League One promotion candidates Coventry on Friday night at Bramall Lane, kick off 7.45pm.

With two home games in quick succession the team are looking to improve on recent form and pick up important points as we head into February.

Speaking in Friday's matchday programme, club captain Michael Doyle, said: "We have no distractions now, our sole focus for the next three months is amassing as many points as possible and hopefully that will be enough to win promotion back to the Championship.

"I suppose you could say, especially after the disappointments of January, that our season starts now. We have 18 games left and we know what is in front of us. What has happened in the past can't affect anything and we just need results under our belts.

"With two home games in the space of five days it is imperative we get a win against Coventry, which then means we can sit back and see what happens over the weekend, knowing we have done our bit."

Backing from the fans is as important as ever and another bumper crowd at Bramall Lane will make a huge difference.

Tickets for Friday's Category A fixture are priced from £22 Adults, £17 Concessions and just £5 Junior Blade Members.

Tickets are available from the Ticket Office, over the telephone on 0871 995 1889 or online at

Fans are advised to purchase tickets as early as possible to avoid expected queues at the Ticket Office on the night. The Ticket Office will be open until 5pm on Thursday and from 9am on Friday.

* Friday night's encounter will not be televised. The game has been switched due to Sheffield Wednesday being at home on Saturday. The Owls had a fixture change to accommodate United earlier in the season.
