Speaking midway through the current transfer window, boss Danny Wilson says imminent movement in or out of Bramall Lane is unlikely.
Wilson admitted there has been some interest in a couple of his squad players, but the Gaffer says he would be delighted if his squad remained intact going into February:
"We are very thin on the ground as we speak so we would certainly have to look to replace anybody who moves on.
"If we are unable to bring replacements in it is going to be difficult to let anyone go. I would be happy if nothing happened, to be honest, because to keep the squad together is important to us.
"We have had a couple of sniffs on two fringe players, but nothing is concrete or imminent at the moment."
The Blades boss is keen to increase his options ahead of the run-in, but he is particularly keen to avoid getting caught short if movement happens late in the window.
He concluded: "As I have said before I want as many players at our disposal as possible, although I appreciate circumstances dictate that situation.
"The later anyone moves the more of a problem it could be, but let's hope nothing happens in that respect."
