Danny Higginbotham has been delighted with the contribution of Blades fans in his short time with the club.
The experienced defender, signed on New Year's Day, made his home debut in Saturday's disappointing defeat to Yeovil Town.
"The fans back this football club and I am sure they will bounce back with us because they are a loyal bunch," he said.
"Life as a supporter can be tough at times but this lot are passionate, I saw that on Saturday, and I am sure they will stay with the lads.
"What players here have to understand is if you want to play for a club like this then you do have to handle the pressure and expectation.
"The fans here are similar to Stoke, they pay their money and want an opinion, which they are entitled to, but the fact is that they stay right behind the team and turn out in numbers both at home and away, which is tremendous."
Higginbotham added: "They just want to see a successful team and when they aren't they get frustrated - we need to give them something to cheer and that is now our aim at Notts County."
"Sheffield United have been right at the top in recent times and in the future, with these fans, I am sure they will make a return in the future."
