Sole focus

26 February 2013

Tony McMahon says the Blades have won nothing yet, but insists the club is in a fantastic position to do so ahead of Tuesday night's clash with Leyton Orient at Bramall Lane.

United hit the summit of League One following a fourth win on the bounce at the weekend and McMahon says the players know exactly what is required to get over the finishing line with 13 games remaining.

The experienced defender, who emphasised the importance of United solely focusing on their own fortunes, commented: "We have hit the top again and now we must make sure we keep winning and stay there.

"The Gaffer has set us a points target and we will just keep working towards that total, which will stay within the dressing room.

"Our destiny remains very much in our hands and we aren't going to lose our focus by worrying about what our rivals are doing.

"It is an old cliché but we are taking each game as it comes and next up is Leyton Orient.

"We know that nobody will roll over and give us an easy game, most teams have got something to play for and every fixture will be tough.

"We need to go out on Tuesday and pick up from where we left off at Bournemouth and if we do we should have enough quality to get another win."
