Danny Wilson believes the Blades 1-0 win at Bournemouth on Saturday was down to his team playing with 'a real intelligence'.
Jamie Murphy's 20th minute strike at Dean Court was enough to secure United a fourth consecutive victory and in the process propel them above the Cherries to the summit of the League One table.
United were full value for their third away win on the bounce which was achieved with another clean sheet.
Speaking afterwards, the Gaffer couldn't hide his delight, he commented:
"I thought we were excellent but the way we stuck to our game plan was what pleased me the most.
"We played with a real intelligence and that was terrific, especially at a place like this where we restricted them to possession away from our goal.
"We were clever enough to cause them problems in and out of possession, the way we performed pleased me immensely.
"We had some very good opportunities from the first minute when we hit the bar, but defensively we were excellent.
"We stood up and competed. We also showed maturity not to get involved with the other side of the game, which again was crucial to our success.
"The two teams were evenly matched on the day but fortunately we got the edge.
"We have fought very hard in the last four matches and we knew a run of wins would get us to where we wanted to be, the job now is to stay there."
