Danny Wilson says the season is only just beginning as the Blades look to secure a top two finish in League One this term.
A disappointing January left United off the pace in the chase for automatic promotion, but three wins from the last three games sees the Blades head to second placed Bournemouth one point and three places off the summit.
Speaking ahead of the weekend's trip to Dorset, Wilson expects there to be plenty of twists and turns as the run-in edges ever closer:
"We have seen this season that teams have been a bit up and down and ultimately it will come down to consistency.
"The league table can change from game-to-game and as we saw to our benefit last week - three wins on the bounce can make a huge difference to your perspective.
"Nothing has changed in our beliefs, we knew from day one that we would have to be equipped to go the distance and you have to stay level headed from one result to the next.
"We knew throughout January we needed to up our performances and thankfully we have responded positively."
The Gaffer added: "The lines in this division are so fine, we knew there wasn't too much wrong, but ultimately when results aren't going right supporters get frustrated and rightly so.
"We head to Bournemouth full of confidence and after their defeat at Preston; you could say the pressure is on them at the weekend.
"To get an automatic promotion place requires a lot of belief, commitment and consistency. If you don't do it between now and the end of the season you will slip away and we are determined to remain resolute in our approach."
