Nigel Clough can enjoy his weekend after witnessing two Blades victories in less than 24 hours.
The United chief watched the U18s progress to the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup on Friday evening with a penalty shoot-out victory over Bolton Wanderers before the senior side secured a 1-0 success over Swindon Town at Bramall Lane.
"Friday night was a great start to the weekend," Clough told www.sufc.co.uk. "I have to say that the youngsters were tremendous and unlucky not to win by four or five goals.
"It was great to be able to go and watch them in action and they turned on a fantastic performance, it would have been a travesty had they not won the penalty shoot-out because they were the best side throughout."
Then, on Saturday afternoon, a Jose Baxter goal enabled the Blades to pick up three SkyBet League One points.
"The performance was good, in parts," added Clough. "We started well, lost our way a little at the end of the first half but then we were positive in the second half and deserved the win.
"We played with two wide players and attempted to get them on the back foot. The idea was to keep the pressure on and the goal finally came. Some may have thought the goal looked scrappy but it was a good header from Jose to loop it over the goalkeeper.
"Swindon have scored a lot of goals this season but we restricted them to long-range efforts and were positive in pockets, the aim now is sustain that."
