Chris Morgan's U21s side made it three league wins on the bounce with a convincing display at United's Redtooth Academy at Shirecliffe on Tuesday afternoon.
Goals from Shaun Miller and first year scholar Dominic Calvert-Lewin secured the points in a game which the Blades dominated.
As well as Miller, Mark Howard, Florent Cuvelier, Jamie Murphy and Febian Brandy - in his first game back from suspension - all featured as Nigel Clough watched on.
MILLER netted with the game's first chance, on 13 minutes. His snap-shot from the edge of the box caught out goalkeeper Legzdins at the near post.
The majority of first half chances came from the Blades. After a Brandy run, Smith's shot was parried away by Legzdins and then both Miller and Smith saw efforts blocked after a neat McGinty pass picked out Murphy.
Murphy and Brandy were both off target around the half hour mark and the final chance of the half was Derby's first but a flicked header from Thomas was deflected wide.
United's dominance was rewarded with a second goal on 48 minutes - and it was an impressively executed. Hodder progressed forward down the right and although, from his pull-back, Smith's shot was blocked, CALVERT-LEWIN picked up the loose ball, curling into the top corner with his left-foot from the edge of the box.
Derby hit back with a couple of opportunities but Raven's effort was saved by Howard and Calvert-Lewin was on defensive duties to block Gjoaki's header on 64 minutes.
Late on, however, it was United who looked the more likely to score. Legzdins pushed a Murphy shot around a post and a Miller effort was blocked. The final chance, on 90 minutes, saw Legzdins get the slightest of touches to Brandy's free-kick to push it onto the crossbar but it could not affect the result as the Blades continued their recent impressive run.
