Tuesday's U21s victory threw up a number of important positives for Chris Morgan.

The U21s boss saw the Blades record a 2-0 victory over Derby County with Shaun Miller and first year scholar Dominic Calvert-Lewin grabbing the goals.

It secured a third consecutive victory in the U21s Professional Development League for the Blades with Nigel Clough in attendance for all three fixtures.

Morgan said afterwards: "We had a number of senior lads involved and they displayed a great attitude. The management team feel that is important to maintain standards throughout all our teams.

"As is the nature with the U21s, we also had a number of youngsters involved - Dom (Calvert-Lewin) played in the middle of the park and scored a tremendous goal. We have proved that if you perform for the U18s you will get a chance for the U21s and Dom has taken it.

"It is great for the younger lads to play alongside the seniors, we looked a cohesive unit and thoroughly deserved the win, we created plenty of chances and were the more dominant force.

"The victory gives us a little more momentum, winning is a good habit and I hope it continues."

United's U21s have just one more fixture before a Christmas break - away at Huddersfield Town on Monday 16th December.
