Nigel Clough is relishing a busy December with three of United's next four League One matches being at Bramall Lane.
Following Saturday's clash with play-off chasing Swindon Town, Oldham Athletic and Tranmere Rovers both visit South Yorkshire over the festive period and Clough knows a health return of points will be crucial to the Blades chances of steering themselves away from League One relegation zone.
Despite stating his desire to see the Blades show more as an attacking force at home, the boss says it will be important to strike a balance between being tough to beat and more of a threat offensively.
Clough said: "We know the importance of winning your home matches and obviously this season we haven't picked up enough points on homesoil.
"In recent weeks, particularly on the road, we have been solid and resolute and it is vital we are the same at Bramall Lane.
"We can't afford to go out and be kamikaze in our approach, but at the same time we can't sit back and just expect things to happen because more often than not it won't."
Looking ahead, the manager continued: "We have had some long away trips lately, so it is nice that we have three home games in quick succession on the horizon. If we could pick up at least two wins from those fixtures then I will be confident we are moving in the right direction.
"Ideally if you are winning consistently at home, points on the road are a bit of bonus, but in our position every point; however it comes is absolutely vital."
