6 August 2013

David Weir is respectful of Gary Rowett and his work at Burton Albion ahead of Tuesday's Capital One Cup clash at Bramall Lane.

Speaking about the League Two outfit, Weir insisted his players could ill afford to take anything for granted, if United are to progress to the second round.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, the Gaffer says nothing has been left to chance in regards to preparing to face the Brewers.

Weir remarked: "I have watched Burton Albion lately, as have Adam (Owen) and Lee (Carsley), so we are fully prepared it that respect.

"They came from 2-0 down to draw the game at Cheltenham at the weekend, so that shows they have some real character and resilience within their ranks.

"Burton are certainly capable of springing a surprise if we don't approach the game properly, so we will have to be somewhere near our best again.

"Gary gets his team well organised and they work extremely hard for each other, from back to front.

"They are compact and without a doubt they will be a difficult team to breakdown. They have experience in key areas and also some youngsters with good legs."
