Focused on the points

30 August 2013

David Weir is looking forward to seeing his Blades tackle the MK Dons on Saturday.

Weir has commended the Dons style of play, which draws a likeness to the Blades way, but the Gaffer insists three points for United on Saturday remains his only thought.

He remarked: "MK Dons are a very good footballing side and I have seen them quite a bit this season.

"They have got a positive reputation for how they play and Karl Robinson has certainly earnt the plaudits in recent seasons.

"It will be a tough test for us, but we are upbeat. MK Dons have some really good young players, just like us.

"They have proved you can play football in this division and League Two with success. At any level you have to stick to your principles.

"We have many similarities to the MK Dons, but also a number of differences too.

"A win on Saturday is what we have worked all week for, so it would give everyone a massive boost."

Weir added: "People perhaps do have a misconception about the lower leagues, but from my experience of watching games this season; I can see everyone has their own beliefs on how to play, some similar to us and others vastly different.

"Every manager will live or die by their principles and we all understand we are in a results industry."
