Positive result needed

26 April 2013

Chris Morgan is backing Simon Grayson's Preston North End to be a genuine promotion contender in League One next season:

"Simon (Grayson) has gone in and taken over from Graham Westley and he has had a tremendous reaction from the players. They have a squad that at the start of the season would have been seriously looking at the top six and beyond.

"I am sure they will be bitterly disappointed not to have been in contention, but now they will be looking beyond the end of the season. Preston has always been a good club and they will be desperate for the summer to fly by and crack on in pre-season."

Looking ahead to the weekend and the play-offs, Morgan added: "The supporters will back us, we know that, and the fans will have seen in the Swindon and Brentford games that the players will give it everything they have in the locker.

"There is a burning desire within the dressing room to win promotion and if we could sign off with all three points on Saturday, then it will give us all a boost ahead of the play-offs.

"We want to finish as high as possible and that will come with a positive result against Preston, so let's win that and see where that takes us."
