Pivotal home treble

8 April 2013

Danny Wilson appreciates United's forthcoming home treble of fixtures will prove pivotal in the quest for a top two finish in League One this season.

United will play three times on home turf in the space of eight days, starting with Crawley Town on Tuesday night.

Speaking ahead of the clash against Richie Barker's Red Devils, the Gaffer commented: "We are all desperate for that elusive home win. We need to give the fans something to shout about from the off and also a dose of luck wouldn't go amiss.

"The next three homes are pivotal to our chances of automatic promotion, that goes without saying, and in an ideal world we would love nine points. Without looking too far ahead, though, the first one on Tuesday night is very important.

"We need that slice of good fortune and an early goal would hopefully set the tone for a dominant performance.

"If we could beat Crawley, which won't be easy, it would give us a fantastic boost ahead of hosting two of our nearest rivals at Bramall Lane.

"We will be as committed and hard working as always and hopefully we can get what would be a vital three points to kick off a fantastic run of matches."
