Jamie Murphy believes Saturday's win over Swindon Town can kick start the Blades with four matches remaining.
United's destiny remains in our own hands and overcoming Brentford on Tuesday night would be another big step in the right direction.
Looking ahead to the game, Murphy was quick to praise the backing the players have received at the weekend:
"The game on Saturday was must win for us, so that has given our confidence a real boost, especially after losing the Gaffer and Frank (Barlow) late last week.
"The performance against Swindon, on the back of the defeat against Crawley, shows the type of character we have in the dressing room. We are definitely capable of winning promotion, but we have to perform on the pitch.
"If we can beat Brentford that sets us up nicely for the final three games of the season, which all come thick and fast.
"The fans of this club are great; they support us in great numbers and always back us, that is coming from someone who hasn't been here that long.
"It is always a fantastic atmosphere at Bramall Lane and I am sure our last two matches at home will be pivotal to our chances of finishing in the top two."
