Danny Wilson says Jonathan Forte has a key role to play in the Blades quest for promotion.
The Southampton loanee has had something of a stop-start return to Bramall Lane since arriving at the end of January, suffering an injury at Bury in February.
Since returning to the side the 26-year-old is still striving for match sharpness and of late has missed a couple of chances, but he has the backing of his boss.
Wilson commented: "Jonathan (Forte) hasn't been able to play enough games because of an untimely niggling injury; he is finding his feet again.
"The lad will score goals though, I am sure of that. The frustration of late is that he has had a couple of chances that could have won us matches. If he stops getting in those good areas he will get a rocket off me because if he doesn't keep persevering he won't get those crucial goals that could make the difference.
"The disappointment he feels when he misses a chance should spur him on to keep going, because if he doesn't he won't be in the team. Jonathan isn't someone who will hide, he believes in his own ability and we believe in him. We are sure he will get the goals we need in the run-in."
