Destiny in our hands

4 April 2013

Danny Wilson says he knows exactly what is required from his side in the remaining seven matches.

The Blades boss is keen to keep his team's promotion aspirations in perspective and speaking before Saturday's clash at play-off challengers Walsall, Wilson says the equation remains simple:

"If we win our next seven games... we will be promoted, it is a simple scenario, but it is a fact.

"Achieving it won't be as easy, but we can't let anyone forget that our destiny remains very much in our own hands.

"We know exactly what is expected of us, but we also know what stands in front of us too, there is never going to be an easy pathway to a title or promotion.

"It will be difficult at times, there will be twists and turns, but what we can rely on is the commitment and desire from the lads to be successful.

"What we must do throughout the run-in is maximise our strengths and at the moment we are extremely strong as a defensive unit.

"We go into every game, as we have done since day one, wanting to win but if we have to win promotion by scrapping out 1-0 wins then so be it.

"Let's look forward to the next seven games, knowing that if we take care of ourselves we will end up back in the Championship, where everyone at the club wants to be."
