Speaking at the press conference at Bramall Lane on Thursday afternoon, Owner Kevin McCabe backed Chris Morgan to turnaround the Blades fortunes at Bramall Lane and ensure United remain firmly in the promotion shake-up.
McCabe, who has further reiterated his commitment to the club, said: "Chris is at the helm until the end of the season and has the opportunity to make the job his permanent should he impress and achieve the objective we set out at the start of the season, which of course was promotion.
"He wouldn't be where he is today if I didn't believe he was the right man to take us forward.
"He is a young man, who I have respected for a number of years now, and younger managers are currently making a mark in the game, I am sure Chris will be no different.
"The man is a leader, and from today a decision maker. He knows it is his team; he must make the final call, although I am sure he will receive plenty of support and good advice from David (Unsworth) amongst others behind the scenes.
"My first thought is that Chris's approach and different style of management can make us more successful at Bramall Lane in the remaining three fixtures.
"I say this in a proper fashion, Chris will bring controlled aggression to the cause and perhaps that will get more out of these players.
"Every decision to do with this football club is very important to me and the board and as always it is done with the best interests of Sheffield United in mind."
